Terms of Use

The rules for using the Sport in Denmark platform. Last updated: 2 June 2026.

1 Acceptance of these terms

Welcome to Sport in Denmark ("we", "us", "the platform"). By accessing or using sportindenmark.dk or any related service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

These Terms must be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

2 About the platform

Sport in Denmark is an initiative by 7 sports federations that helps international citizens discover and join local sports clubs in Denmark. Our platform lets you:

  • Search for clubs and teams by sport, city, level, and schedule
  • Book free or paid trial sessions and courses with clubs
  • Register for events organised by clubs and federations
  • Apply for volunteer roles posted by clubs
  • Connect with other internationals through our buddy-matching feature
  • If you are a club or federation administrator, manage your club's content and members

We facilitate the connection between you and the clubs. We are not the organiser of the sporting activities, training sessions, or events listed on the platform — those are run by the individual clubs and federations.

3 Eligibility & account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account.
  • Notify us immediately at hello@sportindenmark.dk if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • One account per person. Do not impersonate another person or create accounts on someone else's behalf without authorisation.

4 Your responsibilities as a user

When using the platform you agree to:

  • Use the service in accordance with Danish law and the rules of the individual clubs you interact with
  • Respect the time, effort, and goodwill of the volunteer-run clubs on the platform
  • Show up for trial sessions you have booked, or cancel in good time so the spot can go to someone else
  • Behave respectfully towards coaches, club volunteers, fellow players, and other platform users
  • Not abuse, harass, discriminate against, or threaten anyone on or via the platform

5 Bookings, trials & events

When you book a trial session, course, or event, you enter into an arrangement with the relevant club or federation, not with Sport in Denmark.

  • Most trial sessions are free of charge. Any fees, dress code, equipment requirements, or attendance rules will be specified by the club.
  • Cancellation, refund, and no-show policies are set by each club. Please check the booking page or contact the club directly.
  • If the club cancels or moves a session, they should notify you using the contact details from your booking. We are not responsible for organisational decisions made by clubs.
  • You are responsible for arriving on time, complying with the club's house rules, and using the club's facilities and equipment properly.
No-show etiquette: if you cannot make it, cancel as early as you can — clubs often have limited spots and other internationals waiting to try the sport.

6 Volunteering & buddy matching

Volunteer roles

When you apply for a volunteer role, the club receives your application directly. The volunteer relationship is between you and the club. Sport in Denmark does not employ volunteers and is not responsible for the volunteer engagement itself.

Buddy matching

If you opt in to the buddy feature:

  • You decide what information to share on your buddy profile.
  • You agree to communicate respectfully and not to use the feature for dating, harassment, commercial solicitation, or any unlawful purpose.
  • You can disconnect from a buddy, delete your buddy profile, or block another user at any time from your dashboard.
  • Meetings between buddies happen at your own discretion and risk. We recommend meeting in public places, especially the first time.

7 Club & federation administrators

If you create or manage a club or federation profile on the platform, you additionally agree that:

  • You are authorised by the club/federation to act on its behalf.
  • The content you publish (descriptions, photos, schedules, volunteer postings, events, marketing materials, FAQs) is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
  • You have the necessary rights and permissions for every photo, logo, name, and piece of content you upload, including model releases for identifiable people.
  • You will handle personal data of platform users (e.g. trial bookings, volunteer applications) in accordance with GDPR and only for the purpose for which it was provided.
  • You will respond to bookings, applications, and reasonable user enquiries in a timely manner.
  • You will not use the platform to send unsolicited marketing communications.

We may remove content or suspend administrator access if these obligations are breached.

8 User-generated content

You retain ownership of the content you upload to the platform (photos, descriptions, FAQs, comments, etc.). By uploading content, you grant Sport in Denmark a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. This licence ends when you delete the content, except where we have already shared it with a club in connection with a booking, or where retention is required by law.

You confirm that your content does not infringe any third party's rights and does not violate any applicable law.

9 Acceptable use

You must not, and must not attempt to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
  • Post hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, or harassing content
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt the platform
  • Scrape, mass-download, or otherwise extract data from the platform without our written permission
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the platform's source code
  • Bypass security, rate-limits, authentication, or any technical restriction
  • Use bots, automated scripts, or false identities to interact with the platform or with clubs
  • Send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial communication via the platform
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the platform without our consent

10 Intellectual property

The Sport in Denmark name, logo, design, text, software, and database structure are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the platform as intended, no rights are transferred to you.

Club logos, club photos, sport-federation marks, and similar third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used on the platform with their permission or under applicable law.

11 Fees

Using the platform is free of charge for individual users. Companies and partners may pay for premium features under a separate agreement.

Membership fees, course fees, or trial fees charged by individual clubs are governed by each club's own terms and are paid directly to the club. Sport in Denmark does not currently process payments on behalf of clubs.

12 Disclaimer & liability

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Danish law:

  • We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
  • We do not warrant the accuracy of club information, schedules, photos, or any other content provided by clubs or third parties.
  • We are not liable for any cancellation, change, injury, loss, damage, or dispute arising out of activities organised by individual clubs or federations.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Danish law.

Our total aggregate liability towards you, for any cause, is limited to DKK 1,000.

13 Sport & physical activity

Participation is at your own risk. Sports and physical activities involve a risk of injury. You confirm that you are in good enough health to participate in the activities you sign up for, and that you will follow all reasonable safety instructions from coaches and clubs.

If you have any doubts about your physical condition, please consult a medical professional before participating. Where required by the activity (e.g. contact sports, water sports), make sure you have appropriate personal insurance.

14 Suspension & termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. Deletion permanently removes your profile, bookings, buddy profile, and personal messages, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform, with or without notice, if:

  • You breach these Terms or our acceptable-use policy
  • Your behaviour creates a real risk of harm to other users, clubs, or the platform
  • We are required to do so by law or by a competent authority
  • The platform is discontinued in whole or in part

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limitations, and governing-law clauses — will continue to apply.

15 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or operational changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always show the current version. For material changes that affect your rights, we will notify registered users by email and/or by a banner on the platform.

Continuing to use the platform after updates take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

16 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Danish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform, subject to any mandatory consumer-law right you may have to bring proceedings in your country of residence within the EU.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
