Danish sport is organised in foreninger — member-run clubs rather than commercial gyms. You pay a kontingent, usually once or twice a year, and that membership is what gives you training, coaching and a place in the club. A prøvetræning — a trial session — comes first, and it costs nothing.

Good to know
Do I need to speak Danish?
No. You book in English, your confirmation email is in English, and every club listed here has signed up to a platform whose whole purpose is welcoming people who are new to Denmark. Training itself may still be in Danish — say that you are new and people switch.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. A trial session booked here costs nothing. You are not signing up for a membership by booking one, and nobody asks for card details.
What should I bring?
Indoor trainers with clean, non-marking soles, and sportswear. Clubs lend sticks to people trying it for the first time.
What happens after I book?
You get a confirmation email, and the club is told that you are coming. If you need to change the date or cancel, the email has a link for both.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. You can add one guest when you book, and they get their own invitation by email.
How does membership work in a Danish club?
Danish clubs are foreninger — member-run associations, not commercial gyms. After the free trial you join by paying a kontingent, usually once or twice a year, and that is what covers training and coaching for the season.
When can I start?
Floorball is played indoors all year, so there is no season to wait for. Teams usually run from late summer through spring.
Which areas does this page cover?
Herning here means the Herning area: the clubs on this page train in Herning itself and in Ikast-Brande, Karup and Sunds. It is a part of Denmark with an unusually strong club culture, and several of these clubs have more to offer a beginner than their size suggests.
